WESTWARD HO!
OUR TRIP TO WYOMING

Then we were off to Burlington, Iowa to visit more old friends – Bob, Alice, Rose, Lori and Craig. They were only 6 hours out of the way. Again, not so much time in the scheme of things. We drove thru the flat and fertile fields and farmlands that make up Iowa.

We arrived at their home well after suppertime, but they had a feast ready. Lori prepared a delicious meal for us, so good, we went back for seconds! After dinner, the girls caught up in the living room and the guys hung out in the garage.

And, for the first time in 5 days, we had a full nights sleep, on a plush bed, in the beautiful home of Bob and Alice. Friday morning, refreshed and revived, we hit the road for the final leg of the trip back home. We crossed the Mississippi and made our way thru Illinois, on into Indiana, where we had to travel north of Indianapolis to pick up a hood for one the Mopars in our stable.
Another pit stop at Summit Racing in Ohio (this is a mandatory stop anytime we pass thru Ohio), then we continued on our journey back home.

It felt like we’d been in that truck, driving, forever. I couldn’t wait to get home. The last thing I wanted to do when I got home was to go anywhere, if it meant more time in a vehicle As usual, Ralph had other ideas. Would you believe, when we finally pulled in our driveway, after almost 6 days, traveling just shy of 4000 miles, thru 12 states, the first thing Ralph wanted to do was unload the car from the trailer and take it for a drive? You guessed it, that’s just what we did.
