Individual points deductions
are maximums. Tech inspectors should use their best judgment when assigning
demerits. Any car with more than 50 demerits (per race) will run TNT only!
Cars running 11.70 e.t. or quicker may be asked to pull valve covers or
show casting numbers.

Example 1: john doe qualifies in quicker 8 = gets 25 points then wins quickest 8 for additional 100 points. He got 30 demerits for choke horn removal and welded mufflers in tech. His total for this event was 95 points. He got to race and won but could have done better.
Example 2 : Jim Doe was in consolation
race and won and also traveled the farthest. He had no demerits in tech.
His total was 45 points. He’s still happy and wasn’t even close to the
top dogs in E.T. AND SO ON AND SO ON
