WESTWARD HO!
OUR TRIP TO WYOMING

Back on I 90, the Wall Drug signs greeted us: “Free Ice Water
- Wall Drug”, “New Backyard – Wall Drug”,, “Kids bored? – Wall Drug”, “Something
to Crow About – Wall Drug”. We had to stop and see Wall Drug before leaving
South Dakota.

I had to taste that ice water, see the new backyard, find
out what there was to crow about. We made it to Wall Drug about one hour
before they closed. It was classic Roadside America with lots of funky
souvenirs and western clothing in various shops that interconnected, a
restaurant, even a chapel; all this under one roof. But, Guess what? The
ice water container was empty and being cleaned, the backyard was closed.
Not so much to crow about, because they were closing the
place up all around us. Still, it was a cool place to stop. However, if
you ever decide to visit, get there way before closing time to get the
full experience. The place rambled on and on. No wonder they started closing
up an hour before the actual close time.
